Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is a joyful celebration filled with lanterns, sweets, diyas, and family traditions. And this year, we’re making it even more fun for little learners with a simple math activity they can enjoy at home!
In Chinese, Diwali is most commonly called 排灯节 (Páidēngjié), which literally means “Festival of Lamps.” You might also see it written as 屠妖节 (Túyāojié) — a name widely used in Southeast Asia, especially in places like Singapore and Malaysia.
In Spanish, it’s simply called Diwali or sometimes described as el Festival de las Luces (“the Festival of Lights”).
